Multimedia can be a very strong learning tool. It has many practical applications above P&P Teaching (Paper & Pen). There's so many uses, in so many subject areas, that it almost seems useless to fight against it entering your teaching methods; because it will eventually. My job is to use Multimedia to improve the education in a deprived area (Rhondda Cynon Taff, South Wales, UK), and so far it's been really well received.
But to tie this topic into this particular social network. One of the advantages of using Multimedia is that it's alot more portable than P&P and Textbooks, and every student in every class is part of some kind of Social Network i.e. Facebook or Myspace. So multimedia could be distributed across the Web.
What are your thoughts on this?
